The classes will be in sessions of 8 weeks and they will run the whole year.
Classes are held by highly-educated and dedicated teachers who are already working with kids in that age range. The curriculum will focus on language and the ability to interact with others in Italian. Activities include art, story time, music and games. We will have a detailed curriculum for each session so that the parents can practice with kids at home.
The long-term goal of the classes is to bring the kids to fluent bilingualism. Bilingual students have more success in school due to the innate understanding of varied patterns and organization of language which helps them decode the various disciplines they will encounter in school. PICCOLI (7-10 years old)

Participants will learn about all aspects of Italian life, history and culture. They will be stimulated to speak Italian during the two-hour sessions and will also learn about Italian music, dance, art, cuisine, and sports. The studenti will leave with a better understanding of la bella lingua and Italian life.The textbook used is Learn Italian (the fast and fun way) by Marcel Danesi published by Barron’s. It is filled with fun puzzles, helpful vocabulary cards, quick quizzes, funny full-color illustrations and marvelous maps which make it a perfect activity kit to learn Italian quickly and easily! Classes are held by highly-educated and dedicated teachers who are already working with children and young adults. BEGINNING ITALIAN

This class is designed for students with little or no knowledge of the basics of Italian grammar who want to learn the language. You will be able to cover basic grammar rules in the textbook Ultimate Italian, up to unit 10, and to review what you learned through tests and additional exercises. In this class you will focus on the use of the grammar in conversation and you will be encouraged to apply the rules you learned in lively interactions with the teacher and the other students. Moreover you will be able to improve your Italian skills reading dialogues, writing little essays, doing exercises to train your mind and ear and speaking … speaking … speaking! You will be also continuously exposed to Italian culture and all aspects of Italian life. At this stage, you will work on the pronunciation as well and you will be introduced for the first time to basic listening comprehension. INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN (BEGINNING II)

Planning a trip to Italy? The goal of this class is to enable you to be independent while abroad. You'll learn to handle hotel arrangements, order in restaurants, ask the locals for information, and learn many tips that will help make your journey more enjoyable. "Buongiorno Italia" by Joseph Cremona will be used as a text.

The online interactive Italian classes are for those students who do not have time to come to the classes and would like to learn Italian with a private tutor. Through these classes, students can improve their reading, listening and writing skills in Italian with a professional teacher who will help them achieve a personalized curriculum in the Italian language, assigned tests and converse. The new Italian language and culture immersion camp at Tam Community Education is open to kids between 3 and 9 and children between 10 and 14 who have a passion for Italy. It is a great opportunity to learn a new foreign language with highly educated native speakers as teachers. In this two week or four week full immersion Italian camp students will learn Italian through interactive activities such as music and videos.
Participants will also learn about all aspects of Italian life, history and culture and they will be stimulated to speak Italian during the two-hour sessions. The studenti will leave with a better understanding of la bella lingua and Italian life.

A unique, project-based curriculum teaches older children both basic and intermediate Italian. Through digital photography and video students will utilize their newly acquired language skills to produce a custom DVD highlighting their two week or four week experience in the Italian Junior Club.Taught by Italian language teacher Sara Bianchi Chamberlin.
