Summer Camp for 2010!
Let’s have fun together during our Summer Camp while learning Italian through project based workshops designed for children aged 2-5:
WEEK 1: July 5th – 9th Land of Fairytales
Become a prince or princess, goblins or troll in this magical fairy tale week. Children will decorate royal crowns and create fairy wings, magic wands and table top castles. Every child will take home a jeweled crown.
WEEK 2: July 12th – 16th: Back to the Farm
Plant fruit and vegetable seeds, make jam, bake bread, and taste some home-made ice cream. Take a ride in a wheelbarrow and pretend to be farm animals. Every child will take home a bandana.
WEEK 3: July 19th – 23rd: Italian Yoga
Kids will learn basic stretches of hatha yoga in a calm, relaxed atmosphere full of spiritual enlightenment.
WEEK 4: August 2nd – 6th: Pizza workshop
Our campers will make their own pizzas and add to their vocabularies the names of all the different Italian styles and toppings used. They will bring it at home for a yummie Italian dinner.
WEEK 5: August 9th – 13th: Pasta workshop
The little campers will play with pasta dough and learn how to make gnocchi and tagliatelle. They will also help prepare tomato and pesto sauces for a good family dinner.
WEEK 6: August 16th – 20th: Beaches & Sunshine
Splash! Explore seashells, starfish, whales and other creatures that live under the sea. Create sand pictures, decorate fish, and make sandwiches for a pretend picnic at the beach. Every child will take home a water toy.
Policies:
- Students currently enrolled in the pre-school program and siblings have priority.
- Summer camp application forms are due April 5, 2010. Please click here to download the application form.
- Non- refundable deposits are due by April 5, 2010. Please send a check in the amount of $200 to Parliamo Italiano, 205 Tennessee Valley Road, Mill Valley, CA 94941. The balance is due by June 1st.
- Children must enroll for 4 weeks or 6 weeks
Fees and Hours:
The program will run as follows:
MON, TUE, WED in Mill Valley from 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.
The weekly fee for three days a week in Mill Valley: $165 (minimum of 4 weeks required)
Upon availability for people who are not currently enrolled but want to enroll in the camp:
2 times per week = $125/wk
3 times per week = $165/wk
Note: Healthy snacks are included. Please bring your own lunch.
Favole Al Teatro: A guide to Italian’s classic Fables
Let’s put classic stories on stage and have fun with roleplaying. Cost: $180 for 8 weeks of 2 hour classes.
Italian Movie Night for Children: The last Saturday of the month, children will be invited to spend the evening with us from 5:00-9:00. (We are offering more time for you to enjoy your evening out.) Together we will watch a funny cartoon in Italian, suitable for any age, and we will have activities for the rest of the night.
The activities are developmentally appropriate for your child age and they will include:
- board games
- educational games
- arts and crafts
- puppets
- story telling
- and more
A balanced organic dinner we'll be served.
Cost: $30 per child. If you have two kids the cost is $50.
