Philosophy
At ITALIAmore Preschool (Parliamo Italiano!) we follow the Reggio Emilia approach to child education.

Hailed as an exemplary model (Newsweek, 1991), the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education is committed to the creation of conditions for learning that will enhance and facilitate children’s construction of his or her own powers of thinking. This is accomplished through the synthesis of all the expressive, communicative and cognitive languages.

We see each child as unique in his/her own style and pace of learning and we focus on his/her progress both as part of a group and as an individual.

Our emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of children. Topics for study are captured from the talk of children through observation and interaction with each child. Through different projects, children learn literacy, communication skills, team building and creative expression.

At ITALIAmore Preschool, teachers are students, students are teachers, and parents are partners in a collective learning environment.

Student-Teacher Ratio
The student-teacher ratio is capped at 4:1 so that:
1) Children can have the best attention from the teacher.
2) Children
can be followed closely in order to develop fluency in the Italian language and to progress in their general development.
