1. How long has this program been going on? Has it always been at this
hotel/villa?
The villa has hosted different programs throughout the years. This is the first one to be particularly designed for my Marin students. There will be a maximum of 16 students. So if you are interested be sure to keep the deadline in mind.

2. Can you tell me about the accommodations? Do rooms have private
baths? Are they pretty comfortable or more spartan? What other
facilities does the villa have? How are meals handled--set menus,
choices, etc?
Accomodation is in a three-star hotel (see the accomodation page to check out the hotels) and rooms are with private baths. They are comfortable rooms in European style (not as large as the American ones). The villa has small and large rooms for classes, bathrooms, area for snacks and a beautiful Italian garden outside right above the lake for walks.

3. Is there a single supplement? If so, what is it?

If you want a single room, it will be around $25 more/a day approximately.

4. How are flights arranged?
The flight will be SFO-Milan with one stop in Europe. Most likely we will use British Airways but it really depends upon the fares. Unfortunately there are no direct flights to Milan.

5. Can someone fly with his/her own miles or book different dates for the inbound and outbound of the trip?
You are more than welcome to book your own flight. In this case, an amount of $800 will be deducted from the total of the trip. We will try our best to come get you at the airport or we will make arrangements to make your transition from the airport to the hotel as smooth as possible. In both cases you might be asked an additional fee for the transportation.

6. Is there any "free time" on this trip? Can one use local transportation? What transportation is used on field trips?
We will send you a detailed daily program by the end of February. You will have some time off in the weekend and a couple of evenings during the week. We will have a minibus for the group to use on field trips. You can also use trains to reach the big cities of northern Italy and Switzerland in your free time.

7. What if the trip doesn't happen or if a student has to cancel at the
last minute? Do you offer trip insurance or can students obtain their
own outside insurance?

The trip is not refundable in the case you decide not to participate for any reason. I suggest you buy a travel insurance from AAA or another agency. We will refund the full amount in the event we have to cancel due to an insufficient number of participants.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions.
